and Composer: John Anderson
John Anderson is one of Northern Ireland’s
most widely experienced Producer/Directors. Coming from an
academic music background (Bachelor of Music, Master of Arts),
he has since made his career in the music business and broadcasting.
Having his own recording studios, record label and publishing
company he has vast experience in the record industry, and
has (personally) had a number of ‘hit’ records
including three UK number ones!
He is an award winning composer, whose credits include entire
‘Station Ident’ packages for BBC and UTV. He has
vast experience as Composer and Musical Director in Theatre,
including the Irish premieres of Jesus Christ Superstar, Cabaret,
Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat.
Most recently John Anderson was the producer and director
of a large scale live concert celebrating the Scots-Irish
heritage, this was held in the Waterfront Hall (Northern Ireland’s
foremost theatre) and also recorded for TV.
Director: Ian McElhinney
Ian McElhinney’s career is carefully balanced
between his prestigious acting on stage and screen, as Northern
Ireland’s most acclaimed performer, and his directorial
and writing credits.
He was nominated in 2002 for a Tony Award for his production
of ‘Stones in his Pockets’ on Broadway. His production
also won two “Best Comedy” awards: the London
Evening Standard Theatre Award and an Olivier Award, as well
as the Irish Times awards for best production and best actor
and a nomination for best director.
Artistic
Consultant: Anthony Van Laast, MBE
Anthony trained at the London School of Contemporary
Dance, later joining the company as both performer and choreographer.
In 1999 Anthony was awarded the MBE by Her Majesty the Queen
for services to dance and choreography. Key highlights of
his career include:
Jesus Christ Superstar (UK tour and New York – Tony
Award Nomination);Joseph and the Amazing Technicolour Dreamcoat
(Worldwide – Laurence Olivier Award Nomination); Candide
(Old Vic – Laurence Olivier Award for Best Musical);
Hair (London – Laurence Olivier Award Nomination); Beggar’s
Opera (Laurence Olivier Award Nomination); EFX starring Michael
Crawford (MGM Grand Hotel, Las Vegas); and Seigfried and Roy
(The Mirage Hotel, Las Vegas).
Musical Associate: Mark Dougherty
Until joining On Eagle’s Wing recently Mark
was Musical Director for Riverdance, and has toured the world
over the last 3½ years with the production.
Mark’s compositions include Jazz Suites, TV themes
and two full-scale musicals, and he has produced seven CDs
for various artists, including Peter Corry. BBC commissions
include Dance for the Camera and Traditional Sounds for television;
and The Homecoming for BBC Radio 2.
Choreographer: Gail Davies-Sigler
Gail Davies-Sigler has over 20 years experience in
the entertainment business, including involvement as choreographer,
director, artistic director and co-producer on individual
productions. Originally a performer in her own right, she
has worked closely with Anthony Von Laast in the past on a
number of productions and with Walt Disney World Entertainment,
choreographing productions including the Half-Time Show at
Super Bowl 2000. Gail continues to product major Casino and
Cruise Ship Show routines with a unique blend of traditional
and jazz styling.
Costume
Designer: Bonita Bryg
Bonita trained at the royal ballet school and later
joined the company. She then went on to assist some of the
major choreographers, Anthony Van last, Arlene Phillips, before
becoming Dance Director for the Starlight Express World tour
'87-88. One of the highlights of her career was to be chosen
to appear in the prestigious Royal Command Performance in
the presence of Her Majesty the Queen. Reaching ever increasing
heights, Bonita then went on to become Image Consultant and
Designer to the most influential band of the decade: pop sensation,
Take That. She spent five years with the band charting their
meteoric rise to fame designing costumes and creating their
image for their World Arena Tours '94, '95 and '96. And later
the memorable Robbie Williams 100 Faceless army at the 1999
Brit Awards held at the Alexandra Palace.
Using her theatrical flare Bonita went on to design costumes
for theatre and arena tours including Gothenburg Opera, Holiday
On Ice, Burn The Floor, and most recently the Sarah Brightman
world tour presently breaking box office records in America.
