Character: Peter Corry The star character in ‘On Eagle’s Wing’
Andrew played by Peter Corry.
Originally from Belfast, Peter Corry is best known for his
portrayal of Javert, the obsessive police inspector in Les
Miserables. Peter has played the role in London, Dublin and
on tour throughout the UK, notching up more than 1,000 performances
in this sell-out Cameron Mackintosh production.
He has appeared throughout the UK and Ireland, including
sell-out concerts with the Ulster Orchestra, the RTE concert
orchestra and in the Masters of Musicals tour.
The diversity of his musical and acting talents has also
led to numerous television and radio engagements, including
his own programme series on BBC radio and television.
Female
lead: Alyth McCormack Originally from Lewis Island, Scotland, Alyth is a
fluent Gallic speaker. Her performances around the world as
a Scottish Folk and Gallic singer have introduced the haunting
sounds of the far off Scottish shores to international audiences.
Constantly in demand for all major Celtic and Folk festival
concert work, Alyth brings her lilting, dramatic soprano voice
to the music of On Eagle's Wing and demonstrates her versatility
as a performer when, within the show, the same Scottish Airs
are transformed to faster step and country music of the Southern
States. The Producers are confident the contribution of this
typically beautiful Scottish Artist will be a highlight for
world audiences.
Featured
artist: George Jones Belfast-born George will forever be associated with
the showband Clubsound. George joined as a founder member
at the end of the 1960s and stayed with them through the ups
and downs of the civil disturbances in Northern Ireland and
the band’s forays into the international market. When
he left the band in 1997 to spend more time with his family,
he described the decision as one of the most difficult he
ever had to make.
He has been well known as a presenter with Radio Ulster
with his long-running afternoon show, a programme that brought
George the Sony UK local radio personality of the year in
1991.He is now a presenter with U105. George doesn’t spend all his time behind the radio
console however. He recently had the opportunity to play the
role of Fagan, the old rogue in Lionel Bart’s Oliver
in the show ‘One Enchanted Evening’. He has also
been back onstage each Christmas for the last five years as
the lynchpin of Do You Come Here Often?, the hit show based
on the showband years.

parts in Belfast in school and youth club plays, but it wasn’t
until 1994 that he decided to make his hobby into his professional
career. His first role was in pantomime at the Arts Theatre
Belfast and since then, as he puts it “the roles just
keep on coming”, firstly on stage and then in film television
and major advertising campaihns. His favorite role was as Action
in “West Side Story” at the Grand Opera House in
Belfast. Paddy perceives musical theatre to be his natural home.
He’s already tap-danced his way through “42nd Street”
and “Oliver” so the dance routines in “On
Eagle’s Wing” were simply another welcome challenge.
Lead Piper - Robert Watt Robert Watt is, perhaps, the most exciting Piper in
the World. Although still in his early twenties, he has set
audiences on fire with bringing piping to the twenty-first century.
He has also won the respect of the traditionalists, with success
playing the traditional tunes in competitions all over the world,
but most especially in the USA. He enthrals audiences with his
various Ullan & Highland pipes, playing variously with orchestra
and jamming with Bluegrass players, introducing Piping to the
heights of popular music. The Producers believe this young man
from Maghera, in Northern Ireland, will bring a unique style
and genius to the stage of On Eagle's Wing.
